Kevin Durant is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world today. Part of his success are his basketball skills, self-discipline, and constant drive to become better. However, his quest to be the best version of him as a player won't be possible without his confidence as well. The Golden State Warriors star has never lacked it throughout his career, and it has paid dividends for him so far.

The Warriors's 2017 Finals MVP recently gave advice to other players who lacked belief in themselves. Durant cited in his YouTube channel Q&A, that knowing who they play for is important, as well as not being afraid to make mistakes, as it's something they can learn a lot from.

“You gotta know what you're playing for. If you're playing to impress people, nine times out of 10, you're always gonna be disappointed when you miss a shot or you make a mistake because you'll feel embarrassed. But if you know why you're out there, if you know that you want to just get better and you want to master the game, you're gonna be excited about mistakes.”

“Get excited about messing up because you know that you can learn from those mistakes quicker. It's just all about being confident in yourself and knowing it's gonna take some time for you to get where you wanna get to, but enjoy the process, as everybody says nowadays.”

As soon as he entered the league, Kevin Durant quickly made a name for himself as a future star. Now in his 11th season, he is already a former MVP, reigning Finals MVP, and most importantly, an NBA champion. Confidence has never been a problem for him, as he has continued to believe in his abilities and never forgotten his roots.
