Once Kevin Durant made his decision to sign with the Golden State Warriors two years ago, no one knew exactly how things would pan out in the Bay Area. Durant added another superstar to an already stacked roster filled with stars and many thought egos might get in the way of success.

Two years later, Durant is a two-time NBA champion with two NBA Finals MVPs with the Warriors cruising as the league's undisputed superpower. Although things of this nature can't last forever, the star-studded roster has embraced playing team basketball while sharing spotlight that comes with being the NBA's elite squad. Durant explains why things have gone some smoothly for him in the Bay Area, via Michael Lee of Yahoo Sports.

“The Bay Area allows me to be who I am, as a city, to just blend in, and the team allows me to do the same thing,” Durant told Yahoo Sports. “All I want to do in my life, while I’m healthy, is to work on my game and enjoy the game and not worry about nothing else. This place gives me that. This is the best place for me to just play ball, work on my game, play ball, and not care about [expletive] that normal NBA superstars are supposed to care about.”

Clearly, this is a man that has no intentions of going anywhere else anytime soon. Durant has bought into the Warriors culture and Bay Area living while adding to his legacy as one of the greatest players to have ever played the game.

As Durant's trophy case continues to fill up, the rest of the league will try to catch up with LeBron James potentially on the verge of forming his own superteam elsewhere in the NBA. James has been rumored to be leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer and could team up with others stars in the league like James Harden and Chris Paul with the Houston Rockets or potentially start fresh with the Los Angeles Lakers along with Paul George and the talented young roster put together by Magic Johnson.

Needless to say, the Warriors will keep moving forward with their roster intact and Durant and Stephen Curry at the helm.
