Klay Thompson is in the argument for being the best shooter in the NBA, but if it wasn't enough to be 6-foot-7, have a perfect stroke from 30-feet and in, along with one of the quickest triggers in the game, he might just be the best skateboarder in the league, by his own admission.

“I wouldn’t say I’m nasty, but I’m probably the best NBA player on a skateboard,” said Thompson, who grew up near Ladera Ranch Skatepark, according to Tzvi Twersky of SLAM Magazine. “I’m contractually obligated not to skate anymore, but I’ll go out on a limb and say I’ve probably still got it.”

Thompson was drafted in 2011, the very year of the NBA lockout. During those six months between the NBA Draft and the end of the lockout, the sharpshooter spent a lot of time working on his game in preparation for his rookie season, but he still found time to round the skate park alongside his high school friends.

“I was skating a lot back then,” said Thompson. “I hadn’t signed a contract yet, and looking back it wasn’t smart, but it was a lot of fun.”

But his claim isn't backed up only by his own wits, with one of Southern California's best young talents, Ryan Sheckler, endorsing the marksman in his skating abilities.

“There are people that say they can skate, but Klay could really skate, dude,” said Sheckler, who's seen the Golden State Warriors guard skating in his own private skatepark. “He’s smart, but he’s got no fear. He just lets life happen. That’s one of the reasons he’s so fun to be around.”

Some people can juggle, some others can tie a cherry knot with their tongue, but to be really good at two different sports is a blessing not many get in a lifetime.

Chuck another one up for reasons Klay Thompson has gained some extra cool points this season.
