Golden State Warriors shooting guard Nick Young was at the forefront of celebrations when his team won the Western Conference. Needless to say, he was elated after the Warriors capped their sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers with a dominant win in Game 4 of the 2018 NBA Finals.

It goes without saying that Young has endured plenty of heartbreak throughout his NBA career both on and off the court. He even took a shot at himself after mentioning the scandal with former teammate D'Angelo Russell, via Sports Illustrated:

“I’ve come a long way, haven’t I? From getting snitched on, to putting a ring on”

As many remember, Young made headlines last season when Russell recorded him talking about his extracurricular activities off the court. It would have been fine had he not been engaged to rapper Iggy Azalea at the time. It became one of the biggest scandals of the season and it was not long before the two split up.

Unfortunately, his play on the court for the Los Angeles Lakers had seemingly dwindled as well. Young signed with the Warriors that offseason while the Lakers traded Russell to the Brooklyn Nets. Since then, “Swaggy P” has done a nice job of bouncing back after a tumultuous stint in his career.

Recent distractions aside, Young has become one of the most well-liked players in the NBA thanks to his charismatic persona both on and off the court. His exciting style of play was amplified by the fact that he has spent most of his career on losing teams. It is likely what makes winning the championship all the more “swaggier” for Young.
