The Golden State Warriors may have lost a squeaker against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, but there are also some positive takeaways for them on the night.

One of them is Nick Young's explosion off the bench in his debut for the team, as he top-scored for the Dubs with 23 points, on 6-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc. Despite only playing 26 minutes, the veteran guard made Warriors history with his performance, as he knocked down the most 3-pointers on opening night for any Golden State player ever.

The 32-year-old USC product signed with the Warriors during the offseason on a one-year, $5.1 million deal. After spending the last four seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, Nick Young agreed to take his talents to Oakland to bolster the team's already formidable bench, and provide them with another shooter capable of lighting it up from distance on any given night.

If he continues his strong performance throughout the season, he could turn out to be one of the most important signings of the summer for the Warriors. Young will also be a huge boost for the defending champs, who are looking to defend their title, and win their third championship in the last four years.
