In the early minutes of the Golden State Warriors' marquee matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers, it almost looked as if the upstart Sixers would run away with it early. Philadelphia could do no wrong from the tip-off after scoring 47 points in the first quarter alone.

Even superstar Stephen Curry seemed a bit flustered by the Sixers' early run. Head coach Steve Kerr was forced to burn two timeouts within seconds due to the two-time MVP's mental lapse during the opening period. According to Mark Medina of The Mercury News, Curry admitted to his blunder following the game:

“That was all my fault,” Curry said. “I came out of the timeout and didn't know the play. I knew the play, but forgot it once I got out there. … As a point guard, that's kind of unacceptable that literally four dribbles into the possession not knowing where I'm going to throw the ball.”

Curry's comments are indicative of the kind of accountability each player on this team holds themselves to. Despite the slow start, the Warriors stormed back with a historic quarter of their own.

Golden State managed to outscore the Sixers by 47-15 to open up the second half and put them right back into the driver's seat. Meanwhile, Curry made up for his mistake by finishing the game with 35 points, five assists, and five rebounds.
