The Golden State Warriors got their proverbial monkey off their back, nabbing their first win of the season after losing the first two games by a combined 47 points. Stephen Curry and D'Angelo Russell celebrated the 134-123 road win over the New Orleans Pelicans by jumping around as they headed into the locker rooms, soon getting rookie Jordan Poole to join them in celebration

That 11-point win was in fact a 24-point blowout after the third quarter, allowing for some rest for the starters in the last period.

It was a decent way to get out of the funk, considering the Warriors were blown out in two of their three preseason losses and started out this 2019-20 regular season in similar fashion.

Curry led the way with 26 points and D'Angelo Russell followed with 24, combining for the usual 50 points that was expected out of The Splash Brothers in the past. Poole, who got his first start on Monday at shooting guard, contributed 13 points, splashing home his first three 3-pointers and giving Kerr some sense of validation.

Wins will be hard to come for a young Warriors team that has yet to catch up to many others in the Western Conference, but shooting 49% from the field, 40% from deep, and dominating the glass like they did should help raise their spirits after a funky start to the season.
