With a 0-2 start to the season, the Golden State Warriors are quickly reverting to the team the NBA saw last year. Stephen Curry has problems to solve.

In order to get to the bottom of the Warriors' troubles, Wes Goldberg of Mercury News sat down with former Warriors big man Zaza Pachulia.

Pachulia emphasized the fact that the quality of teammates with the Warriors is the reason why Stephen Curry had so much success in past years.

“It started with Andrew Bogut and Draymond Green setting screens to get him open, Klay helps because teams cannot really load on Steph because if you leave Klay open, Klay’s going to make 14 3s against the Chicago Bulls. With Kevin Durant, one of the best players in the league, Steph has more freedom and he can be who he is. But if you have this amazing defender on him and a big man down there waiting for him, then Steph is going to struggle, too,” Pachulia said.

It is obvious that Curry no longer has the teammates that he had during his championship runs in the past. Losing Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets, Andre Iguodola to eventually the Miami Heat, and Klay Thompson and Draymond Green to injury have all changed the entire structure of the Warriors team and the roles each player on the roster has to play.

Where Curry had spot-up shooters in Thompson and even Durant, and big men in Green and Bogut to get him open, allowing him to navigate the defense, Steve Kerr and the Warriors coaching staff now have a large responsibility of developing the games of players such as James Wiseman, Andrew Wiggins, and Kelly Oubre Jr. so that Curry can once again lead the offensive attack.
