Stephen Curry gave an honest assessment following another inconsistent outing by the Golden State Warriors on Thursday. Following back-to-back wins against the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves, the Dubs reverted back to their losing ways and fell against the Phoenix Suns, 114-93, at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

After the game, the two-time NBA MVP admitted that the Warriors are lacking the killer instinct to put away opponents in close games, per Nick Friedell of ESPN.

The Warriors superstar's latest comments couldn't have been more on point. While the Dubs have endured their fair share of blowout defeats this season, there were also some winnable games that should have gone their way. Thursday's match against the Suns was another example.

The Warriors had the opportunity to stretch their winning streak to three, as Suns' best player Devin Booker sat out his third game in a row.

Stephen Curry came out firing and put up a game-high 27 points, four boards, and four assists on 10-of-20 shooting including five made threes. But the Warriors' inability to hold their opponents down on defense once again came back to haunt them. Seven Suns players scored in double-figures, led by Mikal Bridges' 20 points.

The Warriors got outplayed in almost every department, but it was the wide margin in assists, 34-21, and points in the paint, 52-40, which stood out the most. With the stinging loss, Golden State dropped below the top 8 in the Western Conference Standings with a mediocre 10-9 record.

It's not like this team doesn't have enough talent to compete in this league. We've seen how Curry and the Warriors masterfully came back from a huge lead over the defending champs Lakers last week.

But for some reason, the Warriors cannot put up consistent performances like that one on a nightly basis. Hopefully, Curry's words will light a fire under his teammates in the coming games.
