Stephen Curry is nearing the two-week mark since sustaining his foot injury in mid-March, and the Golden State Warriors star is clearly doing his best to get back to the team before the regular season ends.

On Wednesday, ahead of the Warriors' meeting with the Phoenix Suns, head coach Steve Kerr provided a crucial update on Curry's status. According to the veteran tactician, the sharpshooter still has not done any on-court activity since the injury. Nonetheless, he is working with head trainer Rick Celebrini in the weight room and the pool to strengthen his foot.

As Kendra Andrews of ESPN noted, Curry is set to be re-evaluated on Friday. It will determine whether he can start ramping up his activities for a potential return by the playoffs or if he needs more time to heal his foot.

For what it's worth, Stephen Curry is right on his timeline in recovering from the injury. While he has not done any on-court work, it shouldn't be a major obstacle for him if he's able to fully heal his injured foot.

“Two weeks is kind of the marker,” Curry told Mark Haynes of ClutchPoints a week ago. “Just to know how it’s healing. From what I’m told, just in terms of the ligaments around the injury and the bone that’s kind of underneath there, you don’t want to rush the beginning phases of healing, because that’s where you can get the most progress. So when you do put the shoe back on, get back on the court, get reps, that you’re not dealing with crazy soreness or anything, and you give yourself a better shot.”

The Warriors guard sustained the injury when Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart dove for a loose ball and pinned his foot. While Curry doesn't think the play was dirty, it has certainly been a major blow for the Dubs in their quest to secure a playoff spot so far.

Golden State's loss to the Suns on Wednesday was their third straight now and sixth in the last seven since Curry fell down to injury. Their only win in the last two weeks was against a Miami Heat team that is also struggling.

Sure enough, the Dubs are holding out hope Curry will be available for the postseason. However, Steve Kerr and co. also need to prepare for the worst and find ways to win even without their superstar.
