Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry says playing with Kevin Durant for three seasons “cemented the foundation of kind of who I am.”

Curry believes not a lot of basketball players have experienced what the Warriors have been through during their five-year Finals run. The two-time MVP, who will be playing without Durant for the first time in three years, says he is secure with himself now more than ever.

“It cemented me,” Curry said of the three years with Durant, via Marcus Thompson of The Athletic. “Cemented my personality, how I see the world and what makes me go amidst the heights of where we were at for the last three years. Not a lot of people experience what we experienced in terms of criticism, attention, the intensity of basketball, the level we were playing at.

“It further cemented the foundation of kind of who I am. I see there are a lot of different ways to do it, and you respect everybody’s different approach and mindset and angle and what makes them go, what motivates them. But I’m really comfortable with mine.”

Kevin Durant signed a four-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets. By all accounts, Stephen Curry and KD got along on the court and behind the scenes.

However, there was always this prevailing thought that Durant was a little upset playing in the shadow of Curry since the Warriors were always Steph's team no matter how good KD was.
