Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has been sidelined with a broken hand since last month, and as you would expect, it has been difficult for him.

After all, this is the same guy who said he wanted to play all 82 games and 48 minutes every night before the season started.

“It’s just hardest on your competitive spirit,” Curry said, according to Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area. “When you get around basketball and get around the locker room with the guys, that’s the part I miss the most. And I love to play. “Three months is — and I’d only played three-and-a-half games — just weird. It’s unfamiliar territory. I’m enjoying the downtime, because it was unheard of, in my experience, in the middle of a season. It’s just weird.”

Injuries are nothing new for Curry, as he has missed time due to them before, but this is a bit extreme.

The only time Curry missed the majority of a season was back in 2011-12, when he was dealing with ankle issues. He then proceeded to play in at least 78 games for five years in a row before appearing in 51 and 69 contests, respectively, each of the past two seasons.

The Warriors have been shell-shocked by injuries recently.

During the 2019 NBA Finals, Kevin Durant (who is now in Brooklyn) suffered a torn Achilles, and later in the series, Klay Thompson sustained a torn ACL, which has kept him sidelined and may keep him shelved for the remainder of the season.

Curry doesn't seem to have a specific timetable, which has to make his situation all the more frustrating.
