Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry isn't just a good basketball player, he is also a very good golfer, and during the offseason, he plays a lot of it. He has even played on a few Web.Com tour events in 2017, which is a tour for players trying to develop their game to make it to the PGA Tour.

Now, though, Curry is trying to step up his game a little bit, and next year would like to host his own PGA Tour Event. Via ESPN:

ESPN has learned that Curry’s representatives at Octagon are working with the PGA Tour to finalize a deal that allows the agency to work with the Tour to sell marketing and sponsorship deals for a tournament that will be played in the fall of 2019. Sources told ESPN calls were being made to prospective sponsors of the event.

“There’s no doubt Stephen Curry brings a young, new, diverse audience to the PGA Tour through his passion for this great game and support for the community,” said PGA Tour spokeswoman Laura Neal. “We’re excited about the prospect of partnering with an iconic athlete of his caliber in the future.”

It hasn't been confirmed what event it would be, or if it will even for sure happen, but it sounds like it is a real possibility.

ESPN also reported that Curry was trying to keep this out of the media because he is trying to focus on the NBA playoffs, but once the playoffs end this will probably even gain more steam.

If Curry was to host an event, he wouldn't be playing in the actual tournament, but chances are good there would be a pro-am or some prior contests that Curry and other NBA players would compete in.
