Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is on his way to missing the playoffs for the first time as coach of the Dubs.

However, despite having the worst record in the NBA this season entering Friday, Kerr says he's “really enjoying this season.”

The Warriors are 4-15 entering Friday’s matchup against the Miami Heat. It appears this season is going to be about developing Eric Paschall, Jordan Poole and Ky Bowman, and owner Joe Lacob and general manager Bob Myers trust Kerr for that role.

Golden State, after going to the NBA Finals five straight seasons, is not elite anymore. Stephen Curry is out with a broken hand and Klay Thompson is still rehabbing his ACL tear. Kevin Durant, of course, is gone after signing with the Brooklyn Nets in the past offseason.

The Warriors should return to glory next season once the injured stars are back, and there’s nobody better than Kerr to be at the helm when that happens. With that said, don't expect the Dubs to fire Kerr anytime soon.

Golden State has $129 million and $138 million committed to their four max players of Curry, Thompson, Draymond Green and D’Angelo Russell for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, respectively. There has been talk that the Warriors could trade Russell, but so far, everyone inside of the franchise has denied that will happen.
