New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau was impressed with what he saw from his former player Andrew Wiggins when the Warriors lost to the Knicks 119-104. This is what Thibodeau had to say on the progress Wiggins has made from his time in Minnesota, via Alex Didion of Yahoo Sports:

“Huge difference. He’s grown. I think this environment is perfect for him. I think the job that Steve (Kerr) and his staff has done, they’ve challenged him to grow,” Thibodeau told Strauss. “His defense is vastly improved. His all-around play, too, and it will get better and better. Playing with Warriors guys like Steph and Draymond (Green) and when Klay (Thompson)’s back, that’s going to be a big bonus for him. Andrew is a great guy. He’s very talented and gifted and that’s the thing you can’t lose sight of, what the Warriors have done. The obvious is Steph, Klay and Draymond, but adding these young pieces that are so talented. They’re going to be good for a long time.”

In the 15 games Wiggins has played for Golden State this season, he has averaged a solid 17.7 points, along with shooting an incredible 45.2% from the field and 39.7% from beyond the arc. But what is most important is that the Warriors swingman has improved his defensive game, as he usually takes the responsibility of guarding the offensive threats on the opposing team, according to Didion.

In an environment where leaders such as Stephen Curry, Draymond, Green, and Klay Thompson are always pushing their teammates to get better, Wiggins will continue to thrive and contribute to the Warriors' campaign to the playoffs.
