With two games remaining in the 2017-18 NBA season, the Golden State Warriors had to make a major decision before the playoffs. As Stephen Curry is not expected to play in the first round due to injury, there were multiple reports about Quinn Cook's future with the team.

In order to create a roster spot, the Warriors waived Omri Casspi, who took a lesser offer to try and win his first championship. According to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, Cook has now agreed to a multi-year deal with the defending champions and is expected to sign by Tuesday:

Originally undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft and spending time in the G League, Cook's journey to the Warriors serves as inspiration. In 16 starts, the 25-year-old has averaged 15.1 points (50.5 percent from the field and 48.1 percent from the three-point line), 3.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in 32.6 minutes. With his strong play, Draymond Green and company are ‘very comfortable' with him being the team's point guard in the first round of the playoffs.

As the playoffs quickly approach, it remains to be seen how Cook will perform considering the circumstances. Fortunately, Cook will have one of the best backup guards in the league in Shaun Livingston and Kevin Durant and Draymond Green will likely see an increase in their playmaking roles.
