With a day off on Sunday, Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry took advantage of it to watch Super Bowl LII live at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota. However, he was booed by the fans and did not receive the warmest of welcomes from the fans of the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots, as well as of the Timberwolves, with Minnesota being the host city.

Instead of taking it negatively though, the former back-to-back MVP saw it as “doing something right” for being the reason of the reception he got. He cited the Patriots fans mostly Celtics supporters, calling the Eagles the “trust the process” fanbase, and fans in Minnesota knowing that the Dubs are their NBA team's adversaries in the Western Conference. Curry then mentioned that when fans booed Tom Brady, he could connect to him because he also represents championship pedigree.

“They were booing Tom Brady the whole night, and he obviously represents some championship kind of pedigree… so we must be doing something right…”

Curry definitely showed a lot of maturity and professionalism as he did not appear to be fazed with the rousing boos he received inside the stadium. He understands that playing for the defending champions and a team threatening to become a dynasty, they have targets on their backs. Fans also want their teams to contend for championships and not see a single franchise to dominate for the next couple of years.

If there's any takeaway for Curry on the night, he and his teammates should not take any opponent lightly as he witnessed first hand a heavily-favored Patriots team fail to defend their title against the Eagles who showed a lot of grit throughout the game.
