Last October, Snoop Dogg surprised people with his life-sized Xbox Series X-shaped fridge. He gave away 400 similar fridges in a giveaway back then. People took it as a joke and moved on.
In April 2021, Microsoft announced that they will be producing Xbox Series X mini fridges. People thought it's just a gimmick to promote their new console and moved on.
At E3 2021, arguably the biggest video game convention in the world, Microsoft announced the Xbox Series X mini fridges with a world premiere. If Microsoft hasn't convinced you yet that they're in the fridge business, then I'm not sure anymore what they need to do to convince you.
Joking aside, Microsoft is riding the hype and adoration of its fans who have been requesting a mini fridge version of the fridge given away by Snoop Dogg back in October. The original joke came all the way back in 2019 when Microsoft unveiled the console for the first time. Many fans said back then that the console looked like a fridge. Microsoft ran away with that idea.
“Xbox and Chill,” tweets Microsoft. Yes, sure, you can definitely have both of those with this mini fridge. The mini fridge features the proprietary Xbox Velocity Cooling Architecture technology, which, at roughly 400 pounds, Microsoft claims makes it the world's most powerful Mini Fridge.
How to buy the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge?
Microsoft revealed that the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge will come out in Holiday 2021. That coincides with the release of Halo Infinite, so it's perfect for hydrating you during your multiplayer sessions with your buddies this Holiday season. However, apart from this information, Microsoft has not yet revealed a price point for their console fridge. Keep in mind that the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge doesn't function as a console as well, unlike the KFC chicken-warming console.
