Consoles don’t have a monopoly in the video game industry, and the PC market still has a lot of games you can find here and best played with a mouse and keyboard setup. Take a look at these upcoming PC-only games you won’t find anywhere else – games that you should keep your eyes on.
We hope that you find some games here that you’ll be interested in. If these games are right up your alley, make sure to wishlist them to help the developers get more attention and be able to more easily secure funding for future projects. While not all of the games we’re featuring this month are indies, rewarding amazing developers with some recognition will still go a long way.
Top 10 new and upcoming PC games exclusives not coming to consoles (As of February 27, 2023)
10. Anger Foot
Release Date: TBA 2023
Developed by: Free Lives
Published by: Devolver Digital
Count on Devolver Digital to bring on the most out-of-the-box games out there. Anger Foot is like playing Hotline Miami but from the first-person perspective – and you can kick your opponents to submission. This very frenetic action-packed game took our hearts away during the Steam Next Fest, and thankfully this game has a hefty demo already out – we just can’t wait to play the full game, but at least we can start practicing our speed runs with the demo available.
9. Banchou Tactics
Release Date: Sometime 2023
Developed by: SECRET CHARACTER / ITSARAAMATA
Publisher: Flyhigh Works
While I was in high school, I remember playing this game called Kenka Banchou: Badass Rumble on the PlayStation Portable. It involved playing as a delinquent and going on rivalries with other badasses from neighboring schools. It was a cool premise, and this new game called Banchou Tactics has a similar thing going on, but is instead played on a turn-based tactics grid. Will you be able to become the ultimate tactical Banchou badass in the country?
8. The Outlast Trials
Release Date: TBA
Developed By: Red Barrels
Published By: Red Barrels
The Outlast Trials finally got an October 2022 release date. Set in the Cold War, The Outlast Trials is a first-person psychological horror survival video game prequel to Outlast 1 and 2. It was supposed to be released as a sort of DLC or expansion for Outlast 2, but was made into its own game instead. Described as a “TV series” by Red Barrels, we could expect the game to have some sort of episodic release or story structure, similar to the original Alan Wake and Life is Strange. In this game, you play as one of the test subjects of the Murkoff Corporation in a mysterious Cold War experiment. Would you be able to survive and make it out alive?
7. For the King II
Release Date: Sometime 2023

Turn-based cooperative RPG that plays like a board game For the King returns. Battle against Fahrul’s tyrannical Queen alone or as a party of 4 players in the sequel to For The King, the massively popular turn-based roguelike tabletop RPG. Level up and explore as you unravel the once-beloved Queen’s terrible secret.
6. The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria follows the Dwarves as they embark on a new adventure to reclaim their legendary home of Moria beneath the Misty Mountains. The Lord of the Rings with crafting? Count me in.
5. Darkest Dungeon II
Release Date: May 8, 2023
Developed By: Red Hook Studios
Published By: Red Hook Studios
Darkest Dungeon returns again to torment players and their parties with Eldritch horrors. Darkest Dungeon II plays similarly to the turn-based RPG original, with a team of gritty mercenaries looking to make a fortune in the most unfortunate place they possibly could have chosen. New to this game is a coach-driven traveling mechanic that augments the dungeon-crawling aspect of the game, as well as a stylish new look that transitioned the game from its static 2D graphics to 3D animated graphics. If you’re into hard challenges that will make you question your decision-making skills, Darkest Dungeon is the perfect game to punish you with its difficulty. Playing the demo before purchasing the game is recommended.
4. Homeworld 3
Release Date: First Half of 2023
Developed By: Blackbird Interactive
Published By: Gearbox Publishing
After three years in development, the rebirth of the Homeworld space RTS franchise is finally coming. With Gearbox at its head, Homeworld 3 has so much more potential than it ever had before. We’re excited to see how this space RTS will turn out. If you haven’t noticed yet, we’re really big on RTS games here, and this is one of the upcoming PC games we’re really looking forward to. However, Blackbird Entertainment revealed during the Summer Game Fest that Homeworld 3 has been delayed to mid-2023. That’s still a long wait for now, but better late than ugly.
3. Palworld
Release Date: Sometime 2023
Developed By: Pocketpair
Published By: Pocketpair
Imagine Pokemon but much more sinister, where syndicates force creatures into work in factories, so you have to save them. With guns. Palworld has its own open world planned out even before Scarlet and Violet did it. It also has guns and ways to capture the creatures in a way that you will never see in a Nintendo game. Do you want that? You’ll get that in Palworld.
2. The Great War: Western Front
Release Date: March 30, 2023
Developed By: Petroglyph Games
Published By: Frontier Foundry
With Company of Heroes 3 out last month, this month’s war game is aptly named The Great War Western Front. Play as either on the side of the Central Powers or of the Allies in World War I in a unique RTS game that also gives players an overview of the bigger picture of the war. RTS fans would recognize that The Great War Western Front is actually doing something similar to what Company of Heroes 3 did before it, but there’s a different kind of flavor and enough differences in the two games’ takes on how a grand war could play out on both an RTS and on a war games board. If Company of Heroes 3 didn’t sate you last month, then The Great War Western Front should help.
1. The Day Before
Release Date: November 10, 2023
Developed By: Fntastic
Published By: MyTona
What remains to be one of the most wishlisted games on Steam, the controversial The Day Before is still set to come out late this year in November. We’ll keep the focus on The Day Before until its release so that it really will get the attention it deserves when it finally comes out. Is it going to be the disaster that all signs show about it right now, or will the developers be able to turn things around and actually make a compelling game? At this point, it sounds like wishful thinking, but there was a time when we really thought it would have been possible. Only time will tell now for this upcoming PC open world survival horror MMORPG if it will deliver or blow right into our faces.
