The Washington Wizards were able to overtake the Los Angeles Lakers in overtime on Monday, extending their winning streak to five games. Despite Washington's improved play recently, Beal shared his reaction to the team's five-game winning streak, via The Athletic's Fred Katz.

Winning hasn't been something that Beal has been accustomed to in recent seasons. Ahead of Monday's game versus the Lakers, the Wizards held a 10-17 record after winning four consecutive games, including wins over the Denver Nuggets and the Portland Trail Blazers.

In light of Washington's struggles to begin the season, Beal is excited to see the Wizards winning games against some of the better teams in the NBA. At the same time, the star shooting guard understands that Washington can't get complacent while they have a winning streak going.

During Monday's overtime victory over the Lakers, Beal scored a game-high 33 points to defeat a shorthanded Los Angeles squad. Nevertheless, every win is a big one for the Wizards as they hope to salvage their chances to make the playoffs this season.

Beal, who leads the league with 32.9 points per game right now, has been involved in trade rumors to begin the season due to Washington's struggles as a team. The addition of Russell Westbrook hasn't gone as expected as the team had a 6-17 record through their first 23 games.

However, the Wizards have seemingly found their rhythm as they've won five games in a row. Even though they've had success recently, Beal wants his teammates to know that there is still a ton of work to do to reach their goal of advancing to the postseason.
