The Los Angeles Lakers host the Washington Wizards on Tuesday, and Lakers head coach Luke Walton knows his team is going to have to contain Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal.

Walton says Beal is “a monster,” and stopping the All-Star guard from going off is a top priority for the Lakers:

Bradley Beal is having the best statistical year of his career this season. In 74 games this season for the Wizards, Beal is averaging 25.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists per contest while shooting 47.5 percent from the field, 35.2 percent from beyond the arc and 81.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The two-time All-Star has done everything in his power to will Washington to the postseason, but his efforts are likely going to go to waste. The Wizards enter Tuesday 6.5 games back of the Miami Heat for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.

It has been a disappointing season in the nation's capital. Washington was hoping a Big Three of John Wall, Dwight Howard and Beal could make some noise in the East. Wall, however, was lost for the season due to a heel injury, while Howard has only played in nine games after undergoing back surgery.

Beal could be a prime trade target for the Lakers if the Wizards look to move him, but all indications point to Washington sticking with him moving forward.
