Friday is when the Washington Wizards can offer All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal a contract extension worth around $111 million over three years.

Wizards owner Ted Leonsis doesn't expect Beal to give an answer about whether he'll sign the extension on Friday when general manager Tommy Sheppard will formally offer it to Beal:

“Brad is such a high integrity person and he wants the best for our fans and the best for our organization,” Leonsis told Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington. “So, of course, we will go pay respect to him and his management team and his family.

“I don't expect Bradley Beal to say ‘thank you' and sign the contract when Tommy goes to see him on the 26th.”

Bradley Beal has two years left on his current deal. Beal can qualify for the supermax extension next summer if he makes an All-NBA team in 2019-20. It would be a shock to many around the league if Beal signs an extension with the Wizards this offseason. He'll make $27,093,019 next season and $28,751,775 in 2020-21 if he sticks to his current contract.

This past season, Beal was nothing short of spectacular. He averaged 25.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists while shooting 47.5 percent from the field, 35.1 percent beyond the arc and 80.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The Wizards missed the playoffs, as John Wall only played in 32 games. Ted Leonsis said Monday he doesn't expect Wall to play at all next season.
