Former Bruin Russell Westbrook showed some school pride the other night when UCLA took down Michigan State in one of the First four games in the NCAA tournament. Cassius Winston, a former Michigan State Spartan, and a Washington Wizards rookie was forced to wear a Bruins outfit after the defeat.

This is another example of Westbrook's leadership and why so many teammates sing his praises from the rooftops as an excellent teammate and leader. Rookie hazing is common in the league and this is a fun example of it.

Not the first bet to made in the NBA among players regarding former Alma Maters. In recent memory, Shaw and Mo Bamba made a bet about a Texas vs LSU game, which resulted in Bamba having to cut his hair. There is a long tradition of continuing your love for your Alma Mater in the NBA and this is another example of that.

Back in college, Cassius Winston and Russell Westbrook were both stars for their teams. Westbrook was a high flyer for UCLA. His athleticism and defense in college were what lead him to be the 4th overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft. Fellow teammate Kevin Love went directly after him to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Cassius Winston was not the highly touted prospect that Westbrook was, but he was one of the best players in the country for Michigan State and he was looking to make a tournament run last year before the pandemic began.
