Bradley Beal's name has been in the trade rumor mill since the start of the 2021-22 season, and talks about him getting moved away from the Washington Wizards heat up once again with the NBA trade deadline fast approaching.

However, according to NBA insider Marc Stein, it's unlike the Wizards will trade Beal at the deadline as they remain firm on building around him. While there have been reports about his growing frustration with the team's free-fall after a hot start to the campaign, there has been no indication that he wants out.

With that said, the Washington franchise are focusing their efforts on acquiring core players that will convince their star guard that they can compete for a title together.

Per Stein:

As for the most coveted Wizard, one well-placed source reiterated this week that Bradley Beal remains highly unlikely to be seriously discussed in trade talks in the next six days — unless Beal goes to management and requests to be traded. That, I’m told, hasn’t happened yet

The Wizards, meanwhile, are more frequently described by rivals as a team trying to strengthen the cast around Beal (Jerami Grant? Domantas Sabonis?) to convince him to stay put rather than entertaining a Beal blockbuster.

The Wizards are currently 24-27 for 11th in the East, all after starting 13-7 in their first 20 games that saw them climb the top spots of the conference. Considering their massive crash, it is not surprising why Bradley Beal would be frustrated with the way they are playing and how they have performed so far.

And considering the current situation in the NBA where other top contenders are struggling or looking to make an upgrade due to some issues with their players, Beal naturally attracts interest from potential suitors.

By the looks of it, though, there hasn't been much movement from him when it comes to making a trade request from the team. Of course that doesn't mean the Wizards will entertain it and grant it immediately, but his level of desire to stay with the team is a major factor whether Washington will be buyers or sellers at the February 10 deadline.
