New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter became a fan favorite in the Bronx and a Hall of Famer doing it the right way. Jeter navigated the pressure-packed New York environment with the calm of someone who had experienced it before. On the field, he emerged as one of the game's best pure hitters, advancing all the way up to sixth on the all-time Major League hits list.

Needless to say, Jeter is regarded as an all-time great in MLB history. Yet, through it all, the man remained as private as he possibly could. It's not surprising then, that a documentary, titled The Captain, has been produced about the Yankees legend. Ahead of the premiere of The Captain on Monday, Jeter sent out an epic tweet.

Derek Jeter said that “tonight we start from the beginning.” Included in the tweet was a picture of the ex-Yankees shortstop as a kid. It was a pretty epic way to connect with fans and admirers ahead of the premiere of The Captain, which is set to air on ESPN following the telecast of the Home Run Derby.

If Jeter's tweet is any indication, the first episode of The Captain will focus on the Yankees star's childhood and upbringing. The documentary is a seven-part series delving deeper into the life and career of one of the most iconic Yankees ever.

If fans weren't excited enough already to watch The Captain, Derek Jeter gave them another reason with this tweet. All eyes will be on ESPN during- and after- the Home Run Derby.
