Anthony Rizzo wants to continue being part of the New York Yankees.

The Yankees are looking to regroup after being knocked out of the playoffs early once again. Rizzo, whom the Yankees received at the trade deadline, wants to be back in pinstripes. He is a career .268 hitter and has a career WAR of 36.8.

The Yankees desperately needed a lefty batter in their lineup, and they can still add more. Rizzo offers that for New York while also giving an elite glove at first base.

General manager Brian Cashman admitted that a lot of the team's misfortunes in the past few seasons are on him. Cashman hasn't spent as much money as many fans think he needs to. It is expected that Cashman is going to break the bank in free agency.

The Yankees are looking to make a lot of noise this offseason in free agency. Re-signing Rizzo would be a nice addition on top of who else they plan on signing. They could put DJ LeMahieu at second base and sign one of the big-name free agent shortstops, Trevor Story or Corey Seager. That is only possible if Rizzo re-signs, or they can go after another first baseman–possibly Matt Olson.

Rizzo quickly became one of New York's fan favorites and one of the clubhouse favorites, too. He came in and played great defense at first base while providing a much-needed lefty bat in the lineup. It would make sense for Cashman to keep his veteran presence around the locker room.

The Yankees will possibly look to add Rizzo and from the sound of things, it seems that he wants to return to New York. Cashman can't stop there as the Yankees have many holes that need to be filled, especially at shortstop and in the rotation.
