It's been an exciting offseason for the New York Giants. The franchise addressed the front office and coaching staff while bringing a plethora of young talent. They still have some work to do to become a playoff contender, but New York is on the path to success. To increase their chances, we look at three potential trade targets the Giants should consider to round out the 2022 roster.

This team just needs time to develop and improve, but the front office can make a big move to help the offense in the long run. After trading away Evan Engram, the Giants failed to find a competent replacement. Ricky Seals-Jones is the likely starter, which isn't an ideal situation for New York. For that reason, the team should be looking to upgrade the tight end position, or at the very least, find a strong backup option.

Before jumping into the potential trades, it's important to note that the Giants are more likely to sign a free agent or two. However, nothing is impossible, as we've seen a multitude of surprising deals in the league this offseason. Either way, New York should be looking to upgrade their tight end situation, as it would benefit the organization in the short and long term.

With that said, here are three trade targets for the Giants to complete their 2022 roster.

Giants Trade Targets To Complete 2022 Roster

3. Maxx Williams

This is a trade that can actually come to fruition. The Arizona Cardinals recently drafted Trey McBride while also having Zach Ertz as the starting option. That leaves Maxx Williams as the odd man out. He's played well enough to at least be a second option on the depth chart, making him an ideal trade target for the Giants.

Maxx Williams would be a phenomenal addition to New York's roster. He's a great blocking tight end who is capable of helping in the passing game too. Williams is much more of a possession receiver, but his blocking ability would help the Giants' questionable offensive line. He'd likely fit in as a strong backup behind Ricky Seals-Jones who would receive a ton of playing time in certain formations.

2. Robert Tonyan Jr.

This would be a difficult trade to pull off, considering Robert Tonyan Jr. aims to be a contributing factor in the Green Bay Packers offense. However, his injury could force his team to look for a different option. For that reason, there is a chance the Giants' front office can swoop in and trade for the veteran tight end.

Tonyan would immediately take over as the starter in New York once he recovers from his injury. He's proven to be a reliable pass option for Aaron Rodgers and excels in blocking as well. The Giants could use Robert Tonyan Jr. on the roster, as he'd easily become a top-three target for Daniel Jones.

1. Mike Gesicki

There are just too many mouths to feed for the Miami Dolphins right now. With that in mind, the front office might be willing to trade away Mike Gesicki. However, he's a solid tight end, so the Giants would have to make a big offer to persuade Miami to trade him away.

Regardless, New York's offense would vastly improve with a guy like Mike Gesicki on the roster. He's proven to be a solid blocker and showcased consistent hands in the passing game as well. If the Giants hope to become competitive in the upcoming season, the front office should highly consider upgrading the tight end position. That makes Gesicki a prime trade target for this franchise.
