The Chicago Bears appear to have some organizational issues to iron out, in addition to their impending head coaching search. After a feud broke out between Bears chairman George McCaskey and legendary offensive lineman Olin Kreutz, it appears the two sides remain at odds. Kreutz claims that he was offered a role as an assistant offensive line coach for the Bears back in 2018 that would see him earn the state's minimum wage of $15 per hour. McCaskey has adamantly denied those claims, saying that anything Kreutz says should be “taken with a grain of salt.” Kreutz has since replied via Twitter, describing McClaskey's response to his claims as “unreal.”
Unreal but i can’t say I’m shocked is my response Haven’t talk to George since i left Halas but he knows me well . Crazy response by him

Kreutz's initial comments stemmed from an interview on 670 The Score, during which he revealed that the Bears offered him $15 per hour to come back and help coach the offensive line. Kreutz claims that former Bears OL coach Harry Hiestand reached out to him in 2018 with the minimum-wage proposal.
“The last time they offered me a job they offered me $15 an hour,” Kreutz said. “That's the way they do business. Those are the things that have to change.”
McCaskey stuck to his guns regarding Kreutz claims, even going as far as to question the character of the former Bears offensive lineman.
George McCaskey on @olin_kreutz sharing story that #Bears offered him a $15-an-hour job in 2018:
"I've learned over the years to take anything Olin says with a grain of salt."
McCaskey added, "You don't get the whole story" with Kreutz.

Kreutz isn't going to let this die, however, and he is seeking some form of receipt for the offer. Kreutz claims to have reached out to Hiestand, saying that the former OL coach confirmed the Bears' offer to him.

Just talk to Harry Hiestand to confirm the offer again and he confirmed it.

This appears to be a big case of “he said, she said,” between McCuskey and Kreutz. Whether or not the Bears truly had the audacity to submit a lowball coaching offer as Kreutz claims is unclear, but it doesn't seem as if either party is going to back down any time soon.
On @670TheScore, Olin Kreutz said of Bears management: "The way they handle things, the fact they don't understand football, the fact they don't know the questions to ask about football, obviously it's a problem and will continue to be a problem."

Olin Kreutz to @670TheScore: "If a guy like George McCaskey doesn't like me, that is a win for me. … Obviously, I am not fond of George McCaskey right now and the way he handled himself there."

Kreutz was back on 670 The Score on Monday and had further critical comments regarding the way the organization is run, via Chris Emma. The feud which started over the weekend doesn't figure to be approaching its end, with Kreutz continuing to air his grievances on Monday.
