The Green Bay Packers are one of the most storied and accomplished franchises in the NFL. Having been created in 1921, the Packers are entering their 100th season in the NFL in 2020.

Over the course of their remarkable history, Green Bay has accumulated four Super Bowls and 13 total championships. For that to be possible, the Packers have had to build a foundation of drafting well and manufacturing talented rosters.

Given that the 2020 NFL Draft is right around the corner, now is a good time to highlight the best players that were drafted by Green Bay. Without further ado, let's take a look back and discuss the best draft picks in Packers history.

5. Clay Matthews

The Packers have had a slew of dominant pass rushers play for them over the years. Altogether, Green Bay has had the likes of Reggie White, Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, and Aaron Kampman rush the passer.

However, there's one player that has outperformed all of those guys while he was in a Packers uniform. Early in the 2009 NFL Draft, Green Bay selected Clay Matthews with the No. 26 pick out of USC.

Once Matthews joined the Packers, he became the leader of their defense, helping them win a Super Bowl in 2010. Matthews accumulated 83.5 sacks during his 10 seasons in Green Bay (most in Packers history) and was a six-time Pro Bowler.

4. Donald Driver

Throughout the history of the draft, there's been an endless amount of late-round gems that have been found by each team. It's safe to say that's exactly what the Packers found in Donald Driver.

In the 1990s, the Packers boasted an impressive group of wide receivers. Then, in the 1999 NFL Draft, Green Bay able to grab Driver in the seventh round out of Alcorn State.

Even though he was a seventh-round selection, Driver finished his 14-year career with the Packers with 743 receptions, 10,137 yards, and 61 touchdowns. Furthermore, Driver is Green Bay's all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards.

3. Leroy Butler

Besides having edge rushers, the Packers have also had talented defensive backs in their illustrious history. One player that constantly gets overlooked by fans is Leroy Butler.

With the 48th overall pick of the 1990 NFL Draft, the Packers selected Butler out of Florida State. Altogether, in his 12 seasons in Green Bay, Butler tallied a grand total of 38 interceptions and 20.5 sacks.

In addition, Butler is the all-time solo tackles leader in Packers history, with 720 of them. Despite falling short of making the Pro Football Hall of Fame this offseason, Butler is eventually going to get a gold jacket.

2. Bart Starr

More than any other position, fans in Green Bay have been spoiled at the quarterback position. One of the first quarterbacks that had an extensive amount of success with the Packers was Bart Starr.

When the NFL Draft had more than seven rounds, Starr was surprisingly the 17th round pick for the Packers in the 1956 NFL Draft. Compared to today's passing numbers, Starr's stats aren't going to jump off of the page.

While he didn't have overly impressive numbers, Starr won two Super Bowls, five total championships, and was the NFL MVP once. It's hard to argue that Starr isn't on Green Bay's Mount Rushmore of the most important players in their history.

1. Aaron Rodgers

Last but not least, there shouldn't be any surprise that Aaron Rodgers is No. 1 on this list. Back in the 2005 NFL Draft, the Packers decided to select Rodgers with the No. 24 pick in hopes he could be the heir apparent to Brett Favre.

After sitting behind Favre for three seasons, Rodgers finally received his shot to start in 2008. From the moment he became the starting quarterback, it was evident that Rodgers was one of the most gifted quarterbacks in NFL history. Over the course of his 12 seasons as the Packers franchise quarterback, Rodgers has amassed 46,617 yards, 363 touchdowns, and 83 interceptions.

Above all, in just his third season as the starter, Rodgers was able to secure a Super Bowl victory, winning Green Bay's first Super Bowl since 1996. When Rodgers decides to retire from the NFL, he's going to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
