Stephen Curry has long held the title of being the NBA player that everyone would want to take a game-winning shot, but that doesn't seem to be the case heading into the 2020-21 season. In the annual survey of NBA general managers, Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers edged out Curry as the best player to take a game-winning shot.

The conglomerate of general managers conducted their 19th annual survey, voting on the best teams and players in the league. Many general managers chose Luke Doncic as the player they'd build their franchise around and Giannis Antetokounmpo as the favorite to win his third-straight MVP award.

However, when it came to the best clutch shooters, Lillard was voted as the player general managers would want taking the final shot of a game. To be exact, the Blazers star was voted on by 32 percent of general managers, compared to 25 percent who voted for Curry.

In comparison, Curry entered last season as the leader in the same category with a whopping 44 percent of votes.

Throughout his career with the Blazers, Damian Lillard has made a name for himself by hitting clutch shots. The Weber State product has hit an abundance of game-winning shots in his career, with people calling the waning seconds of a game “Dame Time.”

Fans have seen Stephen Curry make his fair share of game-winning shots over the years with the Golden State Warriors. With that being said, executives in the NBA believe there is a new man in town that should be trusted the most to take a clutch shot and he wears No. 0 with the Blazers.
