Portland Trail Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard is “really confident” his team can defeat the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals.

The Warriors are playing in their fifth-straight WCF, while the Blazers are in the conference finals for the first time since 2000.

Lillard, though, says the Blazers match up really well against the Warriors and is excited for the epic series to begin on Tuesday at Oracle Arena.

“I'm really confident,” Lillard said, via Josh Schrock of NBC Sports. “Like Casey said, we split the season series with them. We've won on their floor and on our floor. So, I think that shows we know we are capable of winning. We know we are capable of beating them. We just have to go out there and do it. Put it on the floor.

“I think with Golden State they are much more of a perimeter-oriented team. They do a lot of screening and cutting and shooting a lot of threes and stuff like that. Not really throwing the ball to the block. So, I think it's a much better matchup for us.”

Lillard is averaging 28.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists in the playoffs. The Blazers' best player is shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from beyond the arc.

This is the matchup everyone wanted to see. Lillard and the Blazers versus Stephen Curry and the Warriors. All eyes will be on the Lillard-Curry duel, as both players are arguably the top points guards in the NBA.
