It's not always every day that the stars of the NBA and NFL meet in the public space. However, whenever stars like Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard and Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller meet up, it's not wrong to expect anything epic to happen.

That's exactly what happened when the two of them met up and traded jerseys after the Denver Nuggets beat the Blazers, 114-99. The exchange of jerseys between the two stars was something that brought a smile to fans' faces regardless of their loyalties.

However, there may be something else that is bonding the two of them other than the fact that they're very successful in their chosen trades.

The Broncos are at the bottom of the AFC West and they haven't made the playoffs since winning Super Bowl 50. Von Miller is one of the team's few stellar defenders, but his performances have also dipped this season.

Damian's Blazers are also in the same boat. They lost to the Nuggets in terrible fashion. While Lillard's 11 assists are noteworthy, his 13 points wasn't enough to get them over Nikola Jokic and the rest of Denver's players. They have made a fine mid-season addition in Carmelo Anthony, but even his 20-point outing wasn't enough to salvage the game.

With their respective teams struggling this season, they may be sharing a mutual understanding of their specific situations. This may be the reason why they felt it was important to trade jerseys with each other.

Hopefully, this little interaction will motivate Dame to perform better in their upcoming games. While there's still plenty of the season left, their situation is far from encouraging.
