Adam Cole wasn't 100 percent healthy heading into AEW x NJPW's Forbidden Door.
He reportedly suffered a labrum injury which kept him out of much of the lead-up to Forbidden Door and in the Co-Main Event of the biggest co-promotional effort of the year, the native son of Lancaster, Pennsylvania suffered what looked like a setback on that shoulder when, on an attempted Rainmaker by Kazuchka Okada, it buckled in pain and he dropped to the floor on the way to what many are calling a sped-up though true-to-the-booking finish that saw Jay White roll up his buddy for the 1-2-3.
Later it was reported by Bryan Alvarez that Cole also suffered a concussion, which when coupled with his shoulder, could keep him out of action for the foreseeable future.
After leaving it all in the ring, Cole will probably go dark and wait for his next opportunity to return to the ring and progress his story further, but that didn't stop Britt Baker, his on and off-screen girlfriend, from taking to Twitter for one heck of a subtweet aimed at the haters who have been heckling the former NXT Champion – and herself too – for the better part of the last six months.

For all of the hate Cole gets for his lack of muscles or his “sloppy” presentation, the former leader of the Undisputed Era has long been considered one of the best workers in the business for a reason: He's really, really, really good. Who knows, maybe some absence will make the hearts grow fonder across the wrestling world?
