Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos had a tumultuous year one to say the least. Former Broncos offensive lineman Graham Glasgow believes when things were all said and done, some of the criticism directed at Wilson was not justified, reports Detroit Free Press Dave Birkett.

“It's not fair to always criticize somebody's character.”

This is the gist of Glasgow's thoughts on the matter, who just agreed to a 1-year, $4.5 million contract to return to the Detroit Lions. Glasgow was drafted by the Lions in 2016 before signing with the Broncos in 2020.

Despite his departure from Denver, Glasgow is ensuring no ill-will between him, his former team, and his former quarterback. Coming off of such a disappointing season in Denver, Glasgow is doing the right thing by defending Wilson.

Russell Wilson was the subject of immense scrutiny all season long in 2022. Given the massive contract and haul the Denver Broncos invested in him, it is reasonable that his poor play was magnified under the spotlight. However, attacks on his character are where teammates like Glasgow draw the line.

Reports surfaced all season long of the dysfunction within the Broncos locker room and lack of a leadership role Wilson was able to earn around his new teammates. Rumors of turmoil in Seattle followed Wilson to Denver and it seemed like that set him off on the wrong foot with his new team.

Graham Glasgow ultimately decided to move on from Denver this off-season, but given his response, he wishes nothing but the best for his former team. For the Denver Broncos faithful, they can only agree that the expectation of success is much higher than what actually resulted last year.
