There has been plenty of speculation regarding the uncertain future of Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. General manager Andrew Berry has since made efforts to downplay this notion.

Beckham was rumored to be on the trade black for Cleveland this offseason. General manager Andrew Berry said during an appearance on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football,” that he has no intention of trading his high-profile wideout:

“With all due respect tp the question, I think this is actually a topic, at least from our perspective, there really hasn't been a ton go ambiguity,” Berry said. “We've been clear from the beginning that we view Odell as a fantastic player. We're a better team with him on the field. We see him as a long-term member of our organization. We really like how he's acclimated and adjusted with the new staff. So the rumors, that's not something we can control, but we're happy to have hi as part of our organization.”

Berry's comments hardly come as a surprise. Although he is coming off a tumultuous debut season in Cleveland, it is clear that they are far from throwing in the towel on his compatibility with the team. After all, they parted ways with some major draft capital in a first and third-round pick just to bring him to town and they are not going to give it up after just one season.

The Browns have ushered in some significant changes to their coaching staff this offseason and many assumed the rest start would include Beckham being dealt. However, it is clear that his role within the organization remains as prevalent as ever. Barry's comments only help to solidify this notion.

Beckham fell vastly short of the hype after finishing the 2019 campaign with 74 catches for 1,035 yards and just four touchdowns. While his struggles could be attributed to his lack of involvement on a consistent basis, the front office appears to be adamant about making it work.
