Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry has been pretty positive about his new team. Aside from calling himself the “best wide receiver in the league,” he’s also called quarterback Tyrod Taylor “amazing” and fellow wideout Josh Gordon “unstoppable” this offseason.

Given his general positivity about his new teammates, it should probably come as no surprise that Landry believes the Browns are capable of contending for a playoff spot in the AFC this season.

“I know for sure that we are definitely a playoff-caliber team,” Landry said per Nate Ulrich of the Beacon Journal/Ohio.com.

With the additions of himself and Taylor, not to mention the other parts of the roster, Landry believes Cleveland has upgraded in talent this offseason. But aside from that, Landry believes the Browns must also add the other things which factor into winning football later into the season.

“Do we have the talent? Absolutely,” Landry said. “But at the same time, it’s the little things — the leadership, the accountability — those little, small things are what make or break teams, especially in those late months, in November, December, when you’ve got to win those months. You’ve got to be on the plus side of those months for sure if you want to have any chance at making the playoffs.”

Landry isn’t the first to declare Cleveland as playoff contenders. Linebacker Christian Kirksey guaranteed last month that the Browns will make the playoffs this year.

Landry and the Browns will obviously have their work cut out for them, especially after their disastrous 0-16 campaign last year. But they appear to have the tools needed to accomplish that big goal, and it’s just a matter of putting it all together.
