The Cleveland Browns picked Baker Mayfield No. 1 overall in this year’s draft to be their quarterback of the future. But they also brought in Tyrod Taylor to be their quarterback of the present, and it sounds as if the team is in good hands with him leading the way.

When asked during his recent appearance on the Rich Eisen Show how Taylor has looked this offseason, wide receiver Jarvis Landry heaped praise on his starting quarterback's performance.

“Amazing,” Landry told Eisen. “Amazing, man. His leadership, his arm, his accuracy and he's ready, man. He's the starting quarterback, and I'm sure that, obviously, the decision is up to [head coach] Hue [Jackson] and the offensive staff, and stuff like that. But I'm sure they've been highly impressed with he's done through OTAs and minicamp.”

Landry already talked up Taylor when he said the Browns QBs are better than the ones he had in Miami. Although, he’s hardly the first Brown to say great things about Taylor this offseason. Mayfield has praised Taylor’s mentorship of him, while linebacker Christian Kirksey also included Taylor’s leadership as a big factor why the Browns have a “different feel” about them this year.

Taylor should have the weapons he needs to look amazing with the Browns this season. Landry has anointed himself as the best wide receiver in the league, while fellow wideout Josh Gordon has proclaimed that they're the best receiving corps in the league based on sheer talent.

The Browns have nowhere to go but up following their disastrous 1-31 record over the last two years. But if Taylor can be the amazing quarterback that Landry and the rest of the Browns believe him to be, that will go a long way toward them having their most successful season in some time.
