Giannis Antetokounmpo's time in Milwaukee is all but over. The Milwaukee Bucks are looking to trade the star forward. It's the conclusion of a saga that's been brewing for a long time, but started picking up more steam last season. A dismal season from Milwaukee led to more discontent from Antetokounmpo, who is looking to compete for another title.

There's another Bucks mainstay who might be on his way out of Wisconsin, if the Bucks had their say in the matter. Marc Stein's latest report notes that Milwaukee is also looking to attach veteran forward Bobby Portis in a potential Giannis trade.

“Sources say the Bucks, meanwhile, hope to attach veteran forward Bobby Portis — who has two seasons left on his contract valued at slightly more than $30 million — to Antetokounmpo should a trade come to fruition at last,” Marc Stein wrote in his latest report. “Portis' $15.6 million salary in 2027-28 is a player option.”

Meanwhile, the Heat are also actively preparing for life with Giannis and Bam Adebayo together.

“I've also been advised that Miami has begun making some additional calls in search of some supplementary shooting in the event that its dream frontcourt pairing of Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo actually materializes,” Stein reported.

Antetokounmpo, now 31 years old, was drafted by the Bucks in 2013. During his 12 years with the team, the star forward has earned a bunch of awards. Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP, a ten-time All-Star, and he's just one of just three players to win an MVP and a Defensive Player of the Year in the same year. Most importantly, he brought the Bucks their first championship since 1971 in 2021.

Since that championship run, though, Antetokounmpo and the Bucks have not seen success remotely close to their run. Their inability to make a deep playoff run has frustrated Antetokounmpo, fueling his discontent. It all came to a head in the 2025-26 season, where Milwaukee actively searched a trade for the star forward.
