Following their disappointing 103-95 loss to the lowly Orlando Magic at TD Garden, the Boston Celtics are now riding their longest losing streak of the year with a three-game slide. Celtics center Al Horford thinks that Boston really needs to start playing with a lot more urgency going forward in order to get out of this recent funk that they're in.

Via a tweet from Celtics writer Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe:

“In my eyes, I feel like we’re fighting for our lives right now. That has to be our mindset going into Tuesday’s game,” Horford said after Sunday afternoon's loss to the Magic.

Despite the team's 59-58 advantage at halftime and a 40-point effort in the game from star point guard Kyrie Irving, the Celtics fell absolutely flat in the second half and were outscored 32-12 by the Magic in the third quarter. Although they are still atop the Eastern Conference standings, Horford says that the Celtics need to play more like they have a target on their backs.

Via another post from Himmelsbach's Twitter account:

“We have to understand teams are coming for us. I felt like we’ve handled it OK throughout the season, but it’s even more evident now, so we have to do a good job of making sure we’re bringing the fire and they’re not bringing it to us,” Horford said.

Heading into Sunday afternoon against Orlando, Al Horford was averaging a pretty impressive stat line with 13.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game in roughly 32.7 minutes of action per contest.

The Celtics (32-13) will now hit the road for a four-game West Coast road trip beginning with a contest on Tuesday night against their longtime in the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center.
