At this point, it seems very likely that May 29th's all-English Champions League final between Man City and Chelsea will be moved out of Istanbul. The UK Government has Turkey as one of its “red list” countries due to severe COVID-19 outbreaks, which make it difficult for British fans to travel to watch their teams play, per Rob Harris of AP news.

While both sides want the Champions League final to be played at Wembley instead to accommodate supporters, Portugal has emerged as a possible location. The country is one of 12 that is on England's “green list”, which makes it easier for everyone from the UK to travel there.

UEFA has given the British government until Tuesday to figure out if they can offer all authorities the necessary requirements to travel to England, but Porto could emerge as a very possible destination as well if an agreement isn't met.

Last year's Champions League final was played in Lisbon, with Bayern Munich lifting the trophy after beating PSG 1-0. There were no fans, but it will be a different story this time around if it's hosted in Portugal.

Obviously, it would be a delight for Chelsea and City fans to see their clubs lock horns at a historic stadium like Wembley. But, Porto isn't that far away after all. Either location would ultimately work, but Istanbul definitely looks to be out of luck.
