The Chicago Bears are set to take on the Detroit Lions in an NFC North showdown. Both teams have struggled so far this season, and each franchise is desperate for a win. It's time to continue our NFL predictions series with a Bears Week 4 prediction.

Chicago's defense seems to have been exploited recently even though they have incredible talent on that side of the ball. Even so, the Bears have a chance to get back on track against a mediocre Lions offense. They might struggle to slow down D'Andre Swift, so Chicago may opt to focus on his teammate TJ Hockenson instead.

The Bears' offense was pathetic in their last matchup and there isn't much hope for improvement right now. It's likely we witnessed rock bottom though, which means the only way for Chicago is up. Look for Allen Robinson to bounce back, David Montgomery to provide consistency, and for Justin Fields to gain confidence. With that said, here are four bold Bears Week 4 predictions versus the Lions.

Bears Week 4 Predictions

4. Bears defense bottles up TJ Hockenson

Detroit's passing game is questionable, but TJ Hockenson is no joke. He serves as Jared Goff's top target and plays as the best receiver on the team. The Lions star tight end has emerged as one of the best in his position. If the Bears hope to win this game, the defense must shut down TJ Hockenson.

3. Allen Robinson bounces back as the Bears' top wideout

It's been a rough start for Allen Robinson so far, as he's struggled through all three games this season. It's not like he's not getting involved, Robinson just isn't reeling in receptions like we're used to seeing. However, he's in a prime position to bounce back on Sunday.

The Lions secondary is riddled with injuries and there is virtually no one who can defend Allen Robinson. This should be a field day for the Bears star receiver. We'll see how it plays out, but Robinson should have a big performance against a hobbled Lions secondary.

2. David Montgomery gashes the Lions for 100+ yards

There's really only been one bright spot on this offense and it is David Montgomery. Although his numbers aren't the best, Montgomery provides consistency in the run game. He's a great rusher who is dangerous in open space. The Bears coaching staff must find a way to get the ball in his hands more often.

Whether it's more rushing attempts or getting Montgomery involved in the passing game, it doesn't matter. The goal should be to feed David Montgomery. Doing so can build confidence in Justin Fields as he settles into the NFL. Simultaneously, it gives the Bears some identity which is completely missing from this franchise right now.

1. Justin Fields goes off for 250+ passing yards and 2 total touchdowns

The first start of his career was a complete disaster. Justin Fields looked uncomfortable in the pocket and couldn't get anything going against the Cleveland Browns. It wasn't completely his fault though, as the play calling prevented Fields from rolling outside of the pocket.

The Bears offensive line is well below average and Justin Fields is a mobile quarterback. To succeed, Matt Nagy has to call plays that allow Fields to roll out of the pocket. The Bears can find success this way, and they did just that when Mitchell Trubisky was the starting quarterback.

We'll see what happens, but the play calling must change for Fields to succeed. If it does, look for the rookie quarterback to pick apart a weak Lions secondary.
