The Kansas City Chiefs shockingly traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, ending the speedy wide receiver's tenure with the team after six seasons. The move opened up significant cap space for the Chiefs, while also supplying them with some key draft capital. The Chiefs are already hard at work deciding how to dole out the money they have at their disposal after the Hill trade and have honed in on a trio of talented players. According to Jeffri Chadiha, the Chiefs are considering moves for formers Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling and ex-Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones to buff up the offense.

Additionally, Chadiha also linked the Chiefs to veteran cornerback Stephon Gilmore, though they may not be in play for the free agent unless his price tag lessens.

In 2021, Jones rushed 101 times for 428 yards and 4 touchdowns. The former second-round pick never quite lived up to his potential with the Bucs, but perhaps could find a chance to shine in Kansas City.

As for Valdes-Scantling, the Packers wideout featured in 11 games last season, catching 26 receptions for 430 yards and 3 touchdowns. With Hill out of the picture, Valdes-Scantling could serve as a solid pickup for the Chiefs.

In exchange for Hill, the Chiefs acquired a 2022 first-round pick, 2022 second-round pick, 2022 fourth-round pick, as well as a fourth and sixth-round pick in 2023. The Dolphins then handed Hill a four-year, $120 million contract extension to make him the NFL's highest-paid wide receiver.

Hill was set to enter the final season of a three-year, $54 million deal with the Chiefs that he had signed in 2019. With him off the books, the Chiefs will have more flexibility to pursue weapons for the offense and could go after Jones and Valdes-Scantling on the open market.
