Wednesday afternoon, news broke that the Kansas City Chiefs were trading Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins.

Hours after the blockbuster trade went public, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid voiced his opinion on the deal. He seemed to view the situation as bittersweet and noted his appreciation towards Hill and all of his contributions to the team. The star receiver was a huge part of the team for six seasons, contributing to the team's 2020 Super Bowl victory.

Kansas City reporter Dan Cohen tweeted Reid's quote on the trade Wednesday afternoon.

After recognizing the huge role The Cheetah had on the Chiefs, he pointed out the benefits that came from losing a top receiver in the league. As Reid noted, Kansas City got a lot of future draft picks, including some picks coming up in the near future.

In total, the Chiefs got five draft picks in exchange for Hill. This includes three 2022 NFL Draft picks; one in the first round (29th), one in the second round (50th), and one in the fourth round. The other two picks come in the fourth and sixth rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft.

It's good that the Kansas City leader is optimistic. However, it's impossible for the Chiefs to replace Hill, no matter how many picks they have this year. Fortunately, the team acquired JuJu Smith-Schuster before the trade, securing more talent in the wide receiver position.
