Los Angeles Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard and LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers were reportedly two of the most prominent voices to speak out during Wednesday's emergency meeting. The two star players were very outspoken about not playing the rest of the season.

This report comes via Lakers insider Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times:

It does not come as a surprise that LeBron was very vocal about not wanting to play, given how the four-time MVP has been one of the most prominent figures in the league over the years. On the other hand, Leonard is the type of guy who often keeps to himself and is not exactly outspoken. It is clear, however, that Kawhi has no intention of keeping mum when it comes to issues on social injustice, and he apparently made sure to make himself heard during the meeting.

The fact that Kawhi Leonard is usually the quiet type makes his plea even more impactful here. Similar to LeBron, he reportedly has urged his fellow players to sit out the rest of the season as a way of protesting the violence against the Black community.

As noted in the report above, another meeting will be held on Thursday morning to iron out the next steps they will take. The nation has already been divided by recent events, and it is crucial for the players to present a united front when it comes to this matter. More importantly, what happens after the season is potentially canceled is even more important, and this will surely be one of the key points of discussions in Thursday's meeting.
