L.A. Clippers shooting guard Lou Williams had high praise for Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James following Thursday morning's practice session in Playa Vista, California. In his discussion with Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, Williams cited James as “the best basketball player on Earth.”

“What are the biggest challenges that a LeBron-led Cavs team presents?” Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints asked Williams.

“LeBron?” Williams asked. “We still taking about LeBron at this point? Man, he's the greatest player on Earth. That's the challenge, that's it.

“You've got to focus on the head of the snake,” Williams continued. “You understand LeBron is that, and if you do the best job you can on LeBron, I think you always give yourself an opportunity to win a game against any team that he has.”

James, now 33 years of age and in his 15th season of NBA service, is showing no signs of regression. In fact, after posting 39 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds in Wednesday night's 113-108 win over the Denver Nuggets, he noted that his level of play is “at an all-time high.”

Williams has always been considered a great player in his own right. The 12-year veteran racked up 27 points on 9-21 shooting from the field with 11 assists, and three rebounds in a 121-116 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday.

“We didn't play great, that's it,” Williams told ESPN after Tuesday's game.

Williams and James will meet on the hardwood this Thursday night, as the Cavs and Clippers are scheduled for a 10:30 p.m. EST meeting on TNT.
