The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Max Scherzer, Trea Turner, and Danny Duffy at the MLB trade deadline in an attempt to repeat as World Series Champions. Afterward, they added veteran lefty Cole Hamels, who was a free agent after recovering from an injury.
Well, according to Bob Nightengale, Hamels is out for the year and the Dodgers are on the hook for seven figures.
Cole Hamels had arm pain again and is done for the year while the #Dodgers are on the hook for $1 million.

That certainly didn't last long. He didn't make a start for the Dodgers since coming on board and was put on the 60-day IL, per the Dodgers Twitter account.
The Dodgers selected the contract of RHP Neftalí Féliz, recalled RHP Andre Jackson and optioned LHP Darien Núñez and RHP Edwin Uceta to Triple-A. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers placed Cole Hamels on the 60-day injured list.

So, Hamels made just one outing for the Atlanta Braves last season and is now out again after hurting his arm just after joining the Dodgers.
The bad news keeps coming for Dave Roberts' squad, although they are in a comfortable position, at least for the top Wild Card spot in the National League. The San Diego Padres have reeled as of late, and the Cincinnati Reds are right on the Padres' heels.
Unfortunately, it looks more and more unlikely that the Dodgers can catch the San Francisco Giants, and the loss of Hamels is a tough one, even though he hadn't pitched for them this season.
This could very well be the end of the road for the talented southpaw, although everybody hopes that isn't the case.
