Lee “Kuro” Seo-haeng joins the long list of retired professionals. His announcement to leave the professional scene came within 24 hours of the retirement of his former ROX Tigers teammate Kang “GorillA” Beom-hyun.Kuro is yet another uncrowned king stepping away from the spotlight, he will be sorely missed.

Kuro famously stood toe-to-toe against Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok for most of his tenure with the Tigers team. KOO Tigers surprised the world by skyrocketing to the grand finals of the 2015 world championship. They remained consistent rivals to the SKT throne but were ultimately unable to secure a Summoner’s Cup for themselves. Kuro shared his thoughts regarding retirement in a brief letter that was translated by freelance reporter Ashley Kang.

“Thank you so much for the offers everyone have given me this season, thank you and sorry. I’m not leaving League of Legends. I plan to stream, I plan to YouTube, I plan to become a coach once I’m back from the army. The player Kuro is no more, but I’ll find you again as a coach and a streamer.”

His fans can hope to see him once more as a coach in the future.

It’s not at all uncommon for former professional players to transition into behind-the-scenes roles. Several pros even became on-air talents, particularly in the South Korean region. The region has lost one of its most talented players today but he has promised a valiant return.
