Kang “GorillA” Beom-hyun has decided to take a step away from the competitive stage after eight wonderful years behind the screen. GorillA started out his League of Legends journey playing for NaJin White Shield back in 2013. He found modest success with NWS before his big move to the Tigers squad. It's been a long winding road for this amazing player that all led up to this point in his career.

The Legend of GorillA

GorillA may have found his start with NaJin but he was most successful with the Tigers, particularly their 2015 iteration, the KOO Tigers. KOO reached the Grand Finals of the 2015 world championship. The Tigers squad was quickly established as a true rival to the once-dominant SK Telecom T1 despite any true victories. He was ultimately unable to claim a Summoner's Cup for himself but that doesn't tarnish his stellar career. The Korean Support offered his fans a solemn letter filled with his undying gratitude.

“This will be the final time I will be reaching out to you as a professional player. However, I will find you again, through other future opportunities. I’m grateful that you are with me, in my final moment as a professional gamer, and my first moment as a man, Kang Beom-hyun.”

He most recently played for SANDBOX Gaming after a brief stint in the EU region. He will definitely be missed as one of the game's best Support players. The former SANDBOX Support also enters retirement as one of the countless uncrowned kings of League of Legends.
