The popular cross-platform game Genshin Impact will arrive soon on the Epic Games Store. Players can now add the game to their wishlist, and download the game through the EGS when it launches on June 9, 2021.
In a surprise twist, miHoYo announced that they will be releasing their massively popular open-world action-adventure game Genshin Impact on the Epic Games Store. This is in spite of the fact that players can directly play Genshin Impact on PC using its stand-alone launcher. MiHoYo confirmed that they will have cross-platform play supported between players from the EGS and other platforms. Players can also use the same account from their PC and mobile in the EGS version of the game. The game remains to be free-to-play on all platforms, with microtransactions for the game's Gacha elements.
“When developing Genshin Impact, one of our main focuses has been to make the game available on a wide range of platforms so players can play alone or together with friends regardless of how they choose to play it,” said Forrest Liu, President of miHoYo. “The Epic Games Store is an expert in PC gaming, and we're privileged to work with Epic to bring Genshin Impact to a broader global gaming community.”
As a gift from miHoYo, players can also redeem a special code when the game finally releases on the EGS on June 9. Players can redeem the code “GenshinEpic” and receive rewards, although we don't know the exact contents yet.
