Inazuma is coming soon, along with a completely new storyline taking place far from our usual Mondstadt and Liyue. Three new playable characters will be arriving in Genshin Impact version 2.0: Kamisato Ayaka, Yoimiya, and Sayu. However, miHoYo also introduced a whole new cast of key characters who will take part in the new story quests. These characters may also soon be playable in the subsequent updates to come.

In this article, let’s take a look at three important characters revealed during the Genshin Impact 2.0 special program: Kokomi, Gorou, and Yae Miko.

Sangonomiya Kokomi – Formerly known as Mimi from Genshin Impact Beta

First up is Sangonomiya Kokomi, who leads the Sangonomiya Resistance against the forces of Baal. She is an intelligent and resourceful military advisor, and her leadership skills are great enough to pose a strong resistance against the enormous military of the Shogun.

Kokomi has a very gentle appearance, always wearing a serene smile that could melt the hearts of people who follow her. But behind this lies a very calculating individual, who always seems to have everything within her grasp. You could say that she’s the brains of the resistance and her role in the upcoming Genshin Impact story might be a big one.

Kokomi and her forces reside within the Sangonomiya Shrine, which isn’t surprising due to her namesake. This shrine serves as the resistance’s headquarters, which is located deep inside Watatsumi Island.

It is unknown yet what weapon Kokomi yields, but it looks like she possesses a Hydro vision, which is very fitting based on her general appearance.

Gorou – General of the Sangonomiya Resistance

If Kokomi is the brains, then what we have next is the brawn of the Sangonomiya Resistance, Gorou. He is the general of the Sangonomiya troops, leading the forces to fight against Baal’s Vision Hunt Decree. He is a fierce combatant, who stands his ground against all odds and is very dependable in times of dire need.

According to Kazuha, Gorou is the type of person who is blunt with their words but has a strong sense of camaraderie, especially with his troops. He is also someone that can be relied upon and is ready to protect his friends at any moment. Gorou is seen possessing a Geo vision and wields a bow, which is already quite the unique combination of skills not yet seen before in Genshin Impact.

Yae Miko – Gyuji of the Grand Narukami Shrine

Finally, we have Yae Miko, who has already been teased during the 1.5 special program along with snippets of Inazuma landmarks. She is the chief priest, or “Gyuji”, of the Grand Narukami Shrine, located atop Mt. Yougou. She exudes a dazzling beauty that is like no other, while also boasting an intelligent and cunning personality. Miko seems to have a deft demeanor who’s very unpredictable and has her own ways of doing things.

Miko doesn’t seem to be a mortal, as she was revealed to be an “old friend” of Morax and Baal, and personally knows Ganyu – all of them clearly having lived longer lives than ordinary mortals.

Nothing else has been revealed about Yae Miko, so we’ll have to wait for the new story quests to roll out to finally meet these important characters in Inazuma. But so far, these characters are teased to be important figures that interact with the Traveler, and will shape the ever-expanding content that’s to come to Genshin Impact in the near future.
